In Ivano-Frankivsk region, electricity supply may only be available for 4–5 hours a day in the coming days. The reason is a massive Russian strike on the energy infrastructure of western Ukraine. This was reported by the mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, during a broadcast on the Kyiv24 channel.
According to him, the situation in the energy system of the region remains extremely complicated, so residents are asked to prepare for prolonged and strict restrictions on electricity supply. The current regime may last at least a few days.
Electricity outage schedules in Ivano-Frankivsk on February 7
Ruslan Martsinkiv noted that in Ivano-Frankivsk and the region, there is a possible scenario in which electricity will be available only for a few hours a day. Utility services and energy workers are working to stabilize the system, but it is currently impossible to completely avoid outages.
Residents are urged to prepare in advance for disruptions:
-
charge phones, power banks, and other devices;
-
minimize electricity consumption;
-
be ready for changes in schedules.
Impact on energy and water situation
The attack targeted key energy facilities, including substations and the Burshtyn TPP. Damage was recorded in the Rohatyn and Hohalytska communities, located near Burshtyn. According to Martsinkiv, there are no casualties among the population.
Due to electricity outages, temporary disruptions in water supply are possible, especially in high-rise buildings where water is supplied by pumps. Main pumping stations operate from generators, but residents are asked to stock up on water in case of short-term failures.
On the night of February 7, Russia carried out another combined attack on Ukraine using missiles and drones. The main blow fell on the western regions, leading to large-scale emergency power outages.
