Andrii Shkinder, a Ukrainian soldier whose background and military career left a lasting impression on those who knew him, was killed on June 28, 2026. Born on June 3, 1993, in Rivne, he showed early promise as a gifted student, attending the Mlyniv Humanities Gymnasium in the Rivne region. He went on to earn a degree in Computer Science from Lviv Polytechnic National University. After graduating, he built a career in software development, eventually working as a lead mobile developer at SoftServe Ukraine.

In 2024, Shkinder chose to defend Ukraine by joining the Armed Forces. During his service, he fought on the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, and Northern Slobozhansk fronts as part of the 419th Separate Battalion of Unmanned Systems under the Western Operational Command of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. For his contributions on the battlefield, he received the Best Sergeant of Military Unit A5027 medal.

His funeral took place on July 2, 2026, at the cemetery in the village of Mlyniv, Dubno district, Rivne region.
