Ukrainians to Pay Fixed Gas Rate: Naftogaz Announces New Pricing from May 2026

Нова тарифна система на газ: українці зможуть планувати витрати з травня 2026 року.

Fixed Gas Tariff Introduced

Starting May 1, 2026, and running through April 30, 2027, Naftogaz, Ukraine's state-owned energy company, has rolled out a fixed tariff for household gas consumers. Dubbed the "Fixed" plan, it sets the price at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter. Existing customers will be automatically switched to this rate, while new users can select it during sign-up. This move comes amid ongoing economic volatility, offering households predictable energy costs.

The Fixed tariff ensures price stability, with the per-cubic-meter rate locked in for the entire year. Subscribers have the flexibility to switch plans at any time before the year ends. Gas bills must be settled by the 25th of the month following the billing period. Naftogaz has also updated its payment details, and paper invoices are now optional, as digital statements are available through its app and chatbots.

Updates to Gas Distribution Code

In a related development, Ukraine's energy regulator, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Public Utilities (NKREKP), has approved Resolution No. 541. This introduces amendments to the Gas Distribution System Code, updating billing requirements for residential gas distribution fees. "This tariff plan suits those who want to budget their expenses regardless of the season," a Naftogaz spokesperson noted.

Customers can check their payment amounts via the Kub mobile app or through chatbot services.

The introduction of a fixed gas tariff could help Ukrainian families better manage their household budgets by providing certainty about monthly gas costs. This is especially valuable during periods of economic uncertainty. Additionally, the updated Gas Distribution Code may simplify the billing process and enhance convenience for consumers, potentially boosting satisfaction with Naftogaz's services.

As households prepare for the new fixed gas tariff starting in May, it's worth noting that Ukrainian families have already enjoyed stable gas prices until April 2026. This previous stability may have helped consumers adjust their budgets effectively.
