Train Delays Across Ukraine's Rail Network on October 19
On October 19, 2023, Ukrzaliznytsia experienced significant train delays throughout Ukraine, with international routes from Poland among the most affected. Domestic lines also faced heavy disruptions, especially on key routes such as Kharkiv to Lviv, Kyiv to Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipro to Uzhhorod. To help passengers track these issues, a new feature was introduced on October 16 in the Ukrzaliznytsia app, showing average evacuation stops and delay durations over the past 10 days. Due to escalating security risks, two train services are scheduled to be canceled starting October 20.
Details on International and Domestic Train Delays

- Train No. 19/20 from Chełm to Kyiv was delayed by over 8 hours, arriving at 18:05 instead of the planned 10:07.
- Train No. 67/68 from Warsaw West to Kyiv ran nearly 7 hours late, arriving at 16:23 rather than 10:07.
- Train No. 19/20 from Kyiv to Chełm encountered a 6-hour delay, reaching 11:00 instead of 05:00.

In response to deteriorating security conditions, Ukrzaliznytsia announced plans to suspend two train services starting October 20: Train No. 79/80 between Dnipro and Lviv, and Train No. 31/32 connecting Zaporizhzhia to Przemyśl.

Rail travel remains a crucial transportation mode across Ukraine, making reliable information vital for both domestic and international travelers.
As the disruptions continue, starting from October 20, Ukrzaliznytsia will also suspend two train services, highlighting the ongoing impact of security concerns on rail travel. Additionally, the newly introduced evacuation stop feature in the Ukrzaliznytsia app aims to assist passengers in navigating these challenges more effectively.
