Bern tops the ranking of the most comfortable cities in the world: full TOP-10

The European capital Bern has topped the global ranking of the most livable cities for 2026


According to a new study by Location Ratings from ECA International, Bern has become the absolute number one among cities where living is becoming most comfortable. They analyzed 275 cities based on numerous criteria - from safety and access to medical services to the quality of infrastructure and climate. Finally, this year most of the best cities in the world - 38 out of 50 - are located in Europe, and all the cities represented in the TOP-10 belong to the European continent.



«Strong results for Europe are the result of decades of investment in a clean environment, global health care, and high-quality infrastructure. The fact that no European city even made it to the last 50 underscores how attractive the continent is,» ECA International comments.

Bern, the capital of Switzerland, is known for its safety and high standard of living. The city is famous for its Old Town, which was founded in the 12th century and is located by the Aare River.
