Pension Figures for Ukrainian Performers

State pension amounts for five Ukrainian artists—Svitlana Bilonozhko, Pavlo Zibrov, Alla Kudlay, Ivo Bobul, and Ivan Popovych—have been disclosed. These payments range from 5,000 to 11,600 hryvnias per month.

  • Svitlana Bilonozhko, a People’s Artist of Ukraine, announced in May 2026 that her pension is 11,600 hryvnias.
  • Pavlo Zibrov, who also discussed his pension in 2024, stated it amounts to roughly 8,400–8,500 hryvnias. He emphasized:
“Our pensions are so meager. We’ve traveled abroad and seen how pensioners there go on cruises and luxury liners… I’m technically a pensioner too.”
    — Pavlo Zibrov.
  • Alla Kudlay refuses to publicly disclose her exact pension amount. However, according to Pavlo Zibrov, it is approximately 9,500 hryvnias.
  • Ivo Bobul, a People’s Artist of Ukraine, previously received a pension of 5,000 hryvnias. That amount was recalculated and doubled, bringing his current pension to 10,000 hryvnias. The artist expressed his dissatisfaction:
“This isn’t a pension—it’s a terrible injustice. Do you know how many years of service I have? And what payout was calculated? I’m even embarrassed to say it.”
    — Ivo Bobul.
  • Ivan Popovych, also a People’s Artist of Ukraine, receives about 5,000 hryvnias per month.

In summary, the pensions of these Ukrainian artists vary widely—from 5,000 to 11,600 hryvnias—sparking debate over the fairness and adequacy of these payments.

This situation highlights broader issues with social security in Ukraine, especially for individuals who have made significant contributions to the country’s cultural development. The artists’ comments reveal deep frustration with pensions that often fail to reflect their years of work and achievements. The matter remains a pressing societal concern, fueling discussions on the need for reforms in the social welfare system.
