Cabbage - the main culinary trend of 2026
The Pinterest community has identified cabbage as the most important culinary trend for the upcoming 2026 year. People will experiment with this vegetable by preparing steaks, dumplings, and even cocktails based on it. Business Pinterest confirms this trend.
This became known after the publication of the annual forecast Pinterest Predicts, where 21 key trends in the fields of culture, lifestyle, fashion, beauty, food, interior design, and lifestyle were identified for the next year.
One of the main indicators will be cabbage, which will appeal to representatives of all generations - from baby boomers to young people who have not yet tried steaks, kimchi cocktails, and crispy cabbage dishes.
Rising prices for chicken eggs and pork
The popularity of braised bok choy, cabbage dumplings, varenyky, stuffed cabbage soup, cabbage alfredo, and fermented cabbage is on the rise, as evidenced by search query data.
According to the State Statistics Service, pork prices jumped by more than 30% over the year, but slightly decreased in November. On average, the consumer price of pork was 242.97 UAH per kilogram, which is 4% less than in October (253.06 UAH). And although prices for chicken eggs also increased before the holidays, experts note that this trend will continue into the next year, indicating further price increases for this essential product in the diet of Ukrainians.
Since the beginning of 2026, a rise in prices for chicken eggs and pork, as well as a popularization of cabbage dishes in various culinary shades, can be expected.
