Tragedy in Kyiv: consequences of the shelling
In Kyiv, as a result of a massive shelling by the Russian Federation on the night of January 9, four people were killed, and the number of injured rose to 26. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed the death of four people as of 04:40.
Among the deceased:
- 49-year-old woman,
- two men aged 41 and 54 who were in the Dnipro district,
- 56-year-old man from the Darnytsia district.
In total, 26 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Among the injured are five rescue workers from the State Emergency Service, four medical personnel, and one police officer.
The shelling resulted in numerous fires and damage to residential buildings, as well as civil and industrial facilities. In addition, the city of Slavutych in Kyiv region found itself in a state of complete blackout. This tragedy has become another testament to the consequences of military actions that continue in Ukraine.
