German politicians discussed the possibility of sending the Bundeswehr to Ukraine

The head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Thomas Ryercamp, expressed the opinion that if a ceasefire agreement is reached between Russia and Ukraine, German forces may be sent to Ukraine to ensure peace. He noted that it is important to have effective military deterrence on the ground, especially given the poor experience of interaction between Ukrainian and European troops with Russia.

Ryercamp pointed out that the Bundeswehr could assist in logistics, training Ukrainian soldiers, and building air defense. He emphasized that a necessary condition for Ukraine is security guarantees from partners who can ensure protection in case of aggression from Russia.

The Prime Minister of Saxony, Michael Kretschmer, opposed sending German troops to Ukraine, stating that Germany cannot guarantee the country's security due to insufficient military capabilities. He believes it is better to strengthen the European security structure and obtain security guarantees from the USA.

During the discussion of the possibility of sending German troops to Ukraine, various opinions were expressed. One politician supports the idea of providing support and assistance to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire agreement, while another is convinced that it is better to strengthen security structures in Europe and obtain guarantees from the USA. The decision regarding the possible involvement of the German military in Ukrainian affairs remains open at this moment.
