Norway Delivers Six F-16 Jets to Ukraine, With First Aircraft Nearing Combat Readiness

Норвегія передає Україні шість винищувачів F-16, перший з яких готовий до боїв.

Ukraine Receives F-16 Fighter Jets from Norway

Norway has provided Ukraine with six F-16 fighter jets, which are currently undergoing maintenance in Belgium. The first of these aircraft will soon be combat-ready. While Ukraine now officially owns the jets, their servicing and preparation are being managed under an agreement involving the United States and Ukraine. The F-16s are a significant upgrade to Ukraine's aging Soviet-era air force, offering enhanced capabilities for air defense.

Norway has transferred six F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. These are planes we no longer used, as we have operated F-35s for several years. They required substantial repairs and preparations to be integrated into the Ukrainian Air Force... These aircraft are now owned by Ukraine, and they are being repaired and serviced by technicians in Belgium under an agreement involving the U.S. and Ukraine. I believe the first of these planes will be ready for missions soon.
