Financial support for Ukrainian agriculture
Norway is providing financial support to Ukrainian agriculture amounting to 40 million kroner, which is approximately 168 million UAH. These funds will be directed through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to support the agricultural sector of the country, which is suffering significant losses due to the war.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia, Norway has allocated support for agricultural projects through the UN totaling 150 million Norwegian kroner, which is about 630 million UAH. Of this amount, 42.7 million Norwegian kroner was used for surveying land affected by mine contamination.
International support and its significance
This financial assistance is part of the efforts of the international community aimed at supporting Ukraine in the context of aggression. As Osmund Aukrust, a representative of Norway, noted:
“Russia has many ways in which it tries to bring the Ukrainian people to their knees.” - Osmund Aukrust
This context emphasizes the importance of international support, particularly in agriculture, which is critical for ensuring food security in Ukraine.
By providing financial support to Ukraine, Norway demonstrates its position on the international stage, emphasizing the importance of the agricultural sector in times of war. This assistance will not only help restore agriculture but will also contribute to ensuring food security in the country, which is crucial in the ongoing conflict.
International support for such initiatives is necessary for stabilizing the situation in Ukraine and restoring its economy after the hostilities.
