Shelling of Kharkiv on January 1, 2023

On January 1, 2023, Russian occupiers shelled Kharkiv again, leading to tragic consequences. As a result of the shelling, the eco-park was damaged, where parrots and pheasants were killed. According to Oleksandr Feldman, most of the birds in the park died. The situation with other animals, including tigers, remains unknown, as there is currently no accurate information.

During the shelling, a 40-year-old female volunteer was injured and hospitalized with blast trauma. Oleksandr Feldman reported that the volunteer's injuries, fortunately, are not severe. The shelling occurred on New Year's Eve, adding even more horror to the festive atmosphere.

Consequences of the Shelling

Furthermore, the residents of the region felt the consequences of the shelling. Fires broke out in residential buildings in the Chuhuiv and Kupiansk districts. Oleg Synegubov confirmed that a shell hit the territory of the eco-park in the outskirts of Kharkiv, causing significant destruction and losses.

This shelling is part of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which continues to cause damage not only to infrastructure but also to the ecosystem of the region. The destruction of animals in the eco-park highlights the humanitarian losses that accompany military actions. It is important to note that such incidents negatively impact the morale of residents who are already going through tough times during the war.
