Cost of New Year's menu 2026 in Ukraine

Scientists calculated the cost of the New Year's menu for a family of four for 2026 in Ukraine, which will amount to 3980 UAH. This is 10.7% more expensive than last year. The budget option for the festive dinner includes various dishes, but prices for some products have significantly increased.

Prices for traditional dishes

This year's 'Olivier' salad (3 kg) will cost 406.87 UAH. Prices for sausage have risen, which now costs 180 UAH for 0.5 kg, an increase of 12.5%. Prices have also increased for:

  • Eggs - an increase of 4.8%
  • Green peas - an increase of 11.5%
  • Mayonnaise - became 14.3% more expensive

The cost of 'Herring under a fur coat' salad will be 174.83 UAH, which is an increase of 4%.

At the same time, there is some good news: prices for potatoes have fallen by 57.6%, carrots - by 62.3%, and onions - by 58%. A set of meat products for the table will cost about 1269 UAH, and a kilogram of fresh pork chop will cost around 339 UAH. However, chicken fillet has increased by 40% to 244 UAH per kilogram.

The cost of fruits has decreased by 22%, and now a basket of fruits costs 200 UAH. However, non-alcoholic beverages have jumped by 34%, and a bottle of traditional sparkling wine costs about 239 UAH. A 5-year-old brandy costs 278 UAH. The total bill with delicacies will rise to 4793 UAH.

The rise in the cost of the New Year's table, according to Yurii Lupenko, is caused by the consequences of military actions. This affects the economy and, accordingly, the prices of food products, which significantly impacts families' capabilities to plan festive menus.

The noted rise in prices for the New Year's menu reflects the general trend of increasing the cost of living in Ukraine, caused by economic problems, including the consequences of the war. Many families will have to reassess their festive habits and budgets, as the increase in food costs can significantly affect their financial capabilities. This, in turn, may lead to changes in consumer habits, particularly a reduction in spending on delicacies and expensive alcoholic drinks.
