The budget for 2026 includes significant changes in healthcare. In particular, 258.6 billion UAH is allocated for this sector, which is 38.8 billion UAH more than the previous year. This funding will be used for the development of primary, emergency, and specialized medical care and for expanding support programs for the population.
Strengthening the Medical System
First Deputy Minister of Finance Roman Yermolichev emphasized that the new budget foresees a systematic strengthening of the medical sector in Ukraine. In particular, funding for the medical guarantees program will be increased, 'Available Medicines' will be expanded, and a national program 'Health Screening 40+' will be launched. This will improve the quality and accessibility of medical services and raise doctors' salaries to 35,000 UAH.
Provision of Medicines and Equipment
From now on, patients with cardiovascular and other chronic diseases will have the opportunity to receive necessary medications abundantly, as 8.7 billion UAH is allocated for the 'Available Medicines' program. The new program 'Health Screening 40+' will also start this year, allowing people over 40 to undergo free screenings for timely detection of disease risks.
