Day Three Schedule for the 2026 Winter Olympics

The third day of competition at the Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo Winter Games is set for February 9, 2026. This day will feature Ukrainian athletes competing in several key events, including:

  • Ski jumping;
  • Luge;
  • Curling.

Notably, this day will also see the Olympic debut of a new alpine skiing format: the parallel team event.

Action begins at 11:05 with mixed doubles curling matches. Four matches are scheduled for this session:

  • Switzerland vs. Canada;
  • Italy vs. United States;
  • Norway vs. Korea;
  • Czech Republic vs. Estonia.

Following this, at 11:30, the men's alpine combined downhill segment will commence. Ukrainian ski jumpers will also be in action on the normal hill, an event outside their traditional specialty. The Ukrainian luge athletes, Yulianna Tunytska and Olena Smaha, will compete in their final runs on February 9th as well.

  • At 13:10, a hockey match between Japan and Italy will take place;
  • At 14:28, the women's freestyle skiing slopestyle final is set;
  • At 15:00, the alpine combined continues with the slalom segment;
  • At 18:00, luge singles competition begins with the first heat;
  • At 18:30, speed skaters will race in the 1000-meter event;
  • At 21:40, the third competition day concludes with hockey matches featuring Switzerland vs. the United States and Canada vs. the Czech Republic.

Day three is poised to be crucial for Team Ukraine, offering multiple opportunities to showcase talent across diverse sports. The testing of the new alpine skiing format is a significant moment for the future of the sport. This comes after Ukraine placed eighth in the biathlon mixed relay on February 8th, where Oleksandra Merkushyna required two extra shots in the final shooting stage.
