In the past month of operation, the IT system DOT-Chain Defence from the 'State Logistics Operator' of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has delivered 5,600 drones with a total value of 216 million UAH to the front.
'DOT-Chain Defence has become a platform where combat brigades can directly order various types of UAVs. Currently, 12 brigades from the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Kharkiv directions are involved in the project. We are working on scaling up and developing the marketplace. We have a concrete goal – to create a platform that will help our defenders receive everything they need on time and in sufficient quantities,' said the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov.
The Ministry of Defence explained that the IT system operates on the principle of an ordinary online store. However, instead of phones or household appliances, the military independently chooses drones, which are purchased with funds from the 'Defense Procurement Agency' of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
Since the first order on July 31, the system has demonstrated the following results:
- The supply cycle has been reduced by more than 5 times – from several months to just a few days.
- The average delivery time is up to two weeks, with a record result of only 5 days from the moment of ordering to receiving it at the front.
- Choice opportunity. The military selects exactly the drones they need. Currently, 151 drone models are available in the system.
- Active involvement of unmanned aerial system manufacturers. Currently, tools from 25 companies are available on the marketplace.
- Expansion of nomenclature. In addition to FPV drones, bomber drones, including heavy ones, have been added to the system. The fastest delivery of this type of UAV took 12 days.
- Volume growth. In total, the military has already ordered more than 11,000 drones worth 397 million UAH.
'To further improve DOT-Chain Defence, representatives of the Defense Procurement Agency and the State Logistics Operator have made three trips to the combat zone, where they communicated live with the military regarding the operation of the weapons marketplace. In response to their requests, work is already underway to scale the system to attract new brigades and expand the range of available equipment: other types of drones, electronic warfare systems, ground robotic complexes, and airdrops,' the Ministry of Defence noted.
Information has been provided about the successful operation of the DOT-Chain Defence IT system, which allows the military to directly order various types of drones through an online store. The system has shortened the supply time for combat units, expanded the selection of equipment, and involved numerous unmanned systems manufacturers. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is actively improving the system to ensure that the military receives everything they need in the shortest possible time.
