Reserve+ Application Gets a Major Update

A recent update to the Reserve+ app has changed how military registration categories are displayed, directly impacting companies' ability to secure deferments for employees. The system now clearly distinguishes three categories: conscript, military liable person, and reservist. Notably, reservists cannot be granted deferments because they are not counted among the total number of military liable persons when calculating limits.

Previously, the electronic military registration document (VOD) showed incorrect statuses, causing reservists to be mistakenly listed as military liable persons. This led to companies receiving rejections when trying to defer reservists. Now, the status of 'reserve soldier' combined with VOS 999 clearly indicates a military liable person eligible for deferment.

“If you see VOS 999 and the words 'reserve soldier,' that person is definitely a military liable person who can be deferred,” HR specialists note.

Advice for Employers

Employers are advised to ask their workers to update their electronic VODs in the Reserve+ app. If a category changes, it is enough to adjust internal company records; there is no need to notify territorial recruitment centers (TCCs) separately. This will prevent confusion and ensure employees are deferred correctly according to their status.

This Reserve+ app update represents a significant step in simplifying military registration and employee deferment processes for businesses. The clearer category distinctions will help avoid errors and streamline HR workflows, ultimately benefiting the broader mobilization effort. All parties involved must stay informed about these changes and update their documents accordingly to ensure their military service status is accurately reflected. This will lead to more efficient resource management in meeting military needs.

As the Reserve+ app continues to evolve, recent reports indicate that a significant number of Ukrainian men have experienced a mass update to their status, shifting to 'reservist'. This change could have implications for military deferment processes and employment status.
