President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the heating season in Ukraine officially starts on October 28th. He announced this during a conversation with journalists, noting that heating has already begun in some communities - particularly in social institutions. This is reported by Ukrinform.

How preparations for the heating season are underway
According to the head of state, energy workers continue to restore critical infrastructure facilities damaged during Russian attacks. Despite difficult conditions, the system is operating stably, and Ukraine is ready for the start of the heating period.
The Cabinet of Ministers, in turn, on October 23rd, made a decision to allocate 8.4 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget. These funds will be directed to ensuring the stable passage of the heating season for 2025-2026, as well as preparing heating generating enterprises.
At the beginning of October, Russia conducted one of the largest attacks on Ukrainian energy since February 2022. The enemy launched 35 missiles and 60 drones at gas extraction facilities of «Naftogaz», which led to damage to part of the capacities.
However, according to Zelensky, recovery works are ongoing without interruptions, and the state guarantees heat supply even in the event of further shelling.
«We are working to ensure that winter passes peacefully for people. Ukraine is ready for the heating season», — assured the president.
