The latest survey by the 'Levada Center' showed that nearly half of Russians have nothing to criticize about President Vladimir Putin. This came during a survey in July, where citizens were asked about Putin's shortcomings.
According to the survey results, 48% of Russians stated that they do not know what to criticize the president for, or even believe that 'everything suits them.' Another 24% had no clear answer.
Those who expressed negative opinions about Putin most often pointed to the following issues:
- Softness, kindness, indecisiveness, loyalty - 5%;
- War with Ukraine - 4%;
- Economic situation and decline in living standards - 3%;
- Lies, many words and few deeds, failure to keep promises - 2%;
- Indifference to the people - 2%.
Other issues, such as pension reform, corruption, and the lack of a fight against oligarchs, were mentioned less frequently. There was also a noted desire to see Putin remain in the presidency going forward.
Main Problems for Russians
Currently, the most pressing issues for Russians are rising prices (58%), the war in Ukraine and the conflict with the West (33%), as well as pension reform and raising the retirement age (28%).
Based on the survey, it is evident that most Russians support Putin but have clear demands regarding the resolution of economic problems, which remain the most important for them.
