Meeting of delegations in Paris
The American delegation met in Paris with representatives of the 'coalition of the willing' and the Ukrainian delegation to discuss a system of security guarantees and a prosperity plan. The meeting took place on January 6 and gathered important participants, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British politician Keir Starmer.
U.S. Special Representative Steve Witkoff noted that
“reliable security guarantees and firm commitments to prosperity are necessary for lasting peace in Ukraine.”The American delegation also included Jared Kushner, General Alex Grinkevich, Ambassador Charles Kushner, and White House advisor Josh Grunbaum.
Signing of the declaration
During the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a declaration of intent to deploy a multinational military contingent in Ukraine. Steve Witkoff also added that
“we will continue discussions with the Ukrainian delegation this evening and tomorrow, and hope to achieve additional positive momentum in the near future.”This meeting reflects the activation of international efforts to support Ukraine amid ongoing events in the region.
The meeting in Paris emphasizes the international community's commitment to ensuring stability and security in Ukraine, which is an important aspect in the context of the ongoing conflict. The signing of the declaration on deploying a multinational military contingent may indicate increased military support for Ukraine from Western countries, which, in turn, may influence the further development of the situation in the region.
