Pensions for Refugees: How Ukrainians Abroad Can Form Insurance Experience Remotely

Ukrainians who left for abroad due to the war can remotely accumulate insurance experience for their pension through the voluntary pension insurance program. This program is available for those who are registered in the insured persons database and are not retired.

Conditions for Participation in the Program

The conditions for participation in the program include the payment of a minimum amount of 1760 hryvnias to qualify for one month of insurance experience. This amount constitutes 22% of the current minimum wage, which in currency equivalent is approximately 36 euros. Payments can be made with bank cards from any country through the Portmone service, making the process convenient and accessible for all program participants.

The application procedure takes place remotely through the website of the Pension Fund of Ukraine. The program works for everyone regardless of their official employment status in Ukraine or abroad, allowing Ukrainians abroad to maintain and increase their insurance experience for future pensions.

This initiative is an important step towards ensuring social protection for Ukrainians who have been forced to leave their country due to the war. It allows them to not only maintain financial stability but also retain their rights to future pension payments, which is particularly relevant in conditions of prolonged uncertainty.

The implementation of such programs highlights Ukraine's commitment to its citizens who find themselves in difficult circumstances abroad.
