Starting August 1, pensions for disability are changing: who will receive more than 9000 hryvnias

Starting August 1, 2025, Ukrainians may receive updated disability pension amounts, which can exceed 9000 hryvnias for certain categories of recipients. The Pension Fund of Ukraine explained how payments are calculated and provided information on those who are entitled to increased amounts.

Citizens who have lost their ability to work can receive a disability pension. To qualify, a certain insurance record is required, which depends on the age at which disability occurred. The pension amount depends on the disability group: the first group receives 100% of the calculated pension by age, the second - 90%, and the third - 50%.

For example, if the calculated pension was 3600 hryvnias, a person with the third disability group would receive 1800 hryvnias. Military personnel who became disabled due to participation in hostilities have special pension appointment conditions - here, insurance record does not matter, and the key factor is the reason for disability.

Starting August 1, 2025, Ukrainians will be able to receive increased disability pension amounts based on their disability group and other conditions established by legislation.
