A unique KFC restaurant has opened in Kyiv's Blockbuster Mall, where a fully vegetarian menu is presented for the first time in Ukraine. The establishment, which started operations on September 29, offers plant-based meat alternatives that align with modern trends of healthy eating and environmental sustainability. This was reported by KFC's press service.
What is on the menu at the vegetarian KFC in Ukraine
The menu of the restaurant is based on mycoprotein – an ingredient derived from a natural fungus. This product is rich in protein and fiber, contains no cholesterol, and has a significantly lower environmental impact compared to animal meat. The recipes use dairy products and eggs, therefore the menu is positioned as vegetarian, not vegan. Guests can try both updated versions of classic KFC dishes and new items. Among them:

Veggie strips – crispy strips made from mycoprotein;

Veggie burger – a combination of strips, iceberg lettuce, pickles, and signature sauce;

Veggie twister – a light snack with the same ingredients;

Salad with veggie strips – with the addition of fresh tomatoes;

Rice box with veggie strips – seasoned with teriyaki sauce and sesame.
What the first vegetarian KFC restaurant in Ukraine looks like
The dishes are served in eco-friendly "green" packaging, highlighting the concept of the establishment. The interior of the restaurant has also changed: instead of traditional red accents, a green palette prevails, and the facade and decor are adorned with plant motifs. Instead of the chicken image on the sign – the slogan "100% taste. 0% chicken".
"Opening a vegetarian KFC is not just marketing, but a step towards change. We want to be relevant to our guests by offering formats that align with global trends. This is our way of showing that even brands with a strong history can evolve," said Alina Kiptik, CEO of KFC franchise 'Tasty Food' in Ukraine.
The restaurant operates on a schedule: from Monday to Thursday – from 12:00 to 21:00, from Friday to Sunday – from 10:00 to 22:00. From September 29 to October 5, visitors are offered a 10% discount on all dishes and free delivery through Bolt Food.
