By December 31, 2025, certain categories of pensioners and recipients of insurance payments must undergo physical identification at the Pension Fund of Ukraine. If this requirement is not met, payments may be suspended. This is reported by PFU.
The PFU clarifies that the requirement does not apply to all recipients. Most pensioners living in the controlled territory of Ukraine are not required to undergo additional verification.
Physical identification of pensioners by December 31: who is obligated
Recipients of pension or insurance payments who must undergo identification by the end of the year include:
-
those living in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine;
-
those who have left temporarily occupied territories;
-
those who are temporarily staying abroad for 183 days or more.
Other categories do not need to contact the PFU for identity verification.
How to undergo verification
The Pension Fund has provided several ways to undergo identification:
-
online via the PFU electronic services portal using Diia.Signature;
-
during a video conference call with a PFU employee at a specified time;
-
through foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine with subsequent sending of documents to the PFU;
-
in person at a PFU service center or a banking institution regardless of registration location.
The fund emphasizes that pensioners from temporarily occupied territories or those who have left them must confirm that they are not receiving payments from the Russian Federation. Failure to undergo identification by December 31 will lead to the suspension of payments, which can only be restored after successful verification and submission of the corresponding application.
We remind you that the Pension Fund of Ukraine has introduced a new service that allows pensioners and recipients of insurance payments to undergo physical identification via video conference.
