Weather Alert Issued for Deteriorating Conditions
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center has issued a Level I (yellow) weather warning for hazardous conditions expected over the weekend of February 14-16. The alert covers fog, precipitation, wind, and temperature fluctuations. Dense fog, reducing visibility to 200-500 meters, is forecast for the night and morning of Saturday, February 14th, in northern, most western, central regions, and the Kharkiv oblast. This type of winter weather system is common for the region in February, often bringing travel disruptions.

On Saturday, February 14, rain, with wet snow in some areas, will fall across most of Ukraine, except the north and northwest. Temperatures will range from -2 to +5 degrees Celsius. In Zakarpattia and the south, daytime highs will reach 4-9 degrees above zero, while in Crimea, the temperature will climb to +12°C.
For Sunday, February 15, moderate to heavy snow is expected in the western, Vinnytsia, and northern oblasts, with temperatures dropping to 0 to -5°C. Across the rest of Ukraine, rain will fall, becoming heavy in central and southern areas. Nighttime temperatures will hover around zero, with daytime highs of 1-8°C, reaching up to +15°C in Crimea.
On Monday, February 16, significant snowfall is anticipated overnight in the Kyiv region and the northeast, with temperatures falling by 2-8 degrees. Furthermore, wind gusts of 15-20 m/s are expected on February 15 across most of the country (excluding the north and west), with similar gusts forecast for the Left Bank on February 16. Icy conditions are likely to form on roads in many areas, except the south.
'These weather conditions may complicate operations for energy, construction, and utility companies, as well as disrupt transportation,' — meteorologists warned.
