Правоохоронці не виявили підтверджень більшості анонімних погроз про вибухи.

Nationwide Security Sweep in Ukraine

In response to a mass email campaign of anonymous bomb threats, Ukraine's National Police launched a large-scale security operation across the country. Starting at 11:00 on March 30, a total of 1,216 threatening messages were sent to various institutions. By 18:00 that evening, police had investigated 56% of these reports, but none of the threats were substantiated.

The recipients of these hoax messages included:

  • State government bodies
  • Local municipal authorities
  • Educational institutions
  • Banks
  • Commercial enterprises

All of the calls processed so far have been deemed false alarms. The National Police of Ukraine is urging citizens to remain calm, rely only on official information sources, and comply with the instructions of law enforcement officers.

Previous Incidents and the Need for Preparedness

Similar incidents have occurred before. For instance, on January 30, anonymous bomb threats were sent to locations in Kyiv and numerous regions, including Poltava, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Vinnytsia, Ternopil, Volyn, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv. Such hoaxes are a serious matter, as knowingly making a false report about a security threat is a criminal offense under Ukrainian law.

This situation underscores the critical importance of law enforcement readiness to respond to potential threats, as well as the need for the public to maintain composure.

Given the numerous past cases of anonymous threats, police will continue their work to ensure security and public order in Ukraine. They also urge citizens to be vigilant and cautious when encountering such alarming messages. These disruptive hoaxes are a recurring challenge for Ukrainian authorities, consuming significant security resources.

As the situation with bomb threats unfolds, it is crucial to consider the broader context of security challenges faced by Ukraine. Recent events, such as the impact of drone strikes on cultural heritage, highlight the ongoing threats to public safety and the importance of preparedness in the face of such crises.
