Military Operation 'Horizon' in Poland
Poland has launched military operation 'Horizon' in response to threats of diversions on the Warsaw-Terespol railway. This initiative aims to protect critical infrastructure, as military officials state that the situation requires urgent security measures. The operation started on November 20 and will continue 'until further notice'.
According to information, about 500 territorial defense troops are involved in the operation, conducting patrols along the specified railway line. General Wieslaw Kukula, Chief of the General Staff of Poland, noted that the army is widely engaged as
'a certain threshold has been exceeded, which has painfully affected us'. Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who holds the position of Minister of National Defense, also emphasized that, although
'fortunately, we have been lucky in this situation', it does not mean that there is not a high probability of various types of diversionary and sabotage actions occurring on Polish territory.
Joint Efforts to Ensure Security
Operation 'Horizon' is part of joint efforts to ensure security in the region. One of the initiatives is the establishment of a joint Ukrainian-Polish security group aimed at sharing Ukrainian experience and strengthening cooperation in the field of security. Thus, the Polish army is trying to ensure stability and security on transport highways that are crucial for the country.
Operation 'Horizon' reflects Poland's increasing concern regarding security on its territory in the context of potential threats. Railway routes are critically important not only for domestic transport but also for international logistics, which includes aid supplies to Ukraine. Such measures demonstrate the readiness of the Polish government to take active steps to prevent possible diversions that could significantly impact overall security in the region.
