Poland will gradually cease the activities of shelters for refugees from Ukraine

The Polish government has adopted a draft law according to which, from November 1 this year, collective accommodation centers for refugees from Ukraine will only accept representatives of protected groups, such as pensioners, pregnant women, and people with disabilities. This was reported by Polish representative Adam Szlapko.

According to the representative of the Masovian Voivodeship, Joanna Bachanek, more than half of the refugees currently in the centers pay for their housing and food. After 120 days of free accommodation, they move to a financial co-payment system. For those who do not belong to protected groups, there is a program 'Together to Independence', which provides for subsidizing rent and Polish language courses funded by the European Union.

Let us recall that the Council of the European Union has decided to extend temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees until 2027 due to the war in Ukraine

The Polish government is preparing to cease the activities of shelters for refugees from Ukraine, focusing on representatives of protected groups and providing them with additional support. These changes aim to improve the living conditions of refugees and their integration into Polish society.
