Progress in Securing Homes for Ukrainian Families

Speaking at the International Cohesion Forum, Oleksiy Kuleba—Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development—announced major strides in housing provision. Through state compensation programs, more than 450,000 families (roughly one million people) have received housing. This initiative is part of the Ukrainian government's broader effort to support citizens amid the ongoing war.

In the Kyiv region alone, over 25,000 facilities have been restored, accounting for more than 70% of all destroyed or damaged property in that area. These figures highlight the success of reconstruction and housing recovery efforts in conflict-affected zones.

Funding Ukraine's Recovery

Separately, the governing board of the Ukraine Investment Framework (UIF) has approved a new package of eight programs aimed at rebuilding the country. The package totals 1.5 billion euros, with 466.5 million euros allocated to projects managed by the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development. This move is designed to strengthen Ukraine's economy and infrastructure.

Road repairs across Ukraine require 52 billion hryvnias. Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko disclosed the funding details for this critical sector, underscoring the priority placed on improving road networks as part of the nation's recovery.

'We are not just a country at war—we are a state that holds firm and thinks about the future,' said Oleksiy Kuleba, emphasizing the importance of reconstruction and development in Ukraine.

These announcements reflect the Ukrainian government's active efforts to rebuild infrastructure and support its population, which remains vital amid the ongoing conflict. The programs underway underscore the importance of international support and financing for Ukraine's recovery, while also demonstrating a commitment to long-term stability and growth.
