Foreign Workers in Poland Exceed One Million, with Ukrainians Making Up Two-Thirds

В Польщі кількість іноземних працівників перевищила один мільйон, з яких дві третини — громадяни України.

The State of Foreign Employment in Poland

Official data shows that as of the end of July 2025, Poland had 1,106,300 registered foreign workers, accounting for 6.7% of the country's total workforce. Of these, Ukrainian citizens hold a dominant share, occupying 741,000 positions, which represents 67% of all foreign workers. The number of employed Ukrainians has increased by 5.7% compared to 2024, underscoring their growing role in the Polish economy. This trend highlights Poland's position as a major destination for labor migration within the European Union.

Regional Distribution and Labor Market Trends

The Warsaw region is the primary hub for foreign workers, hosting 20% of the total. In contrast, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship has fewer than 1%. Among all foreign workers, 428,000 are employed under specific mandate contracts, a figure that has grown by 5.6% from the previous year. These statistics point to a sustained and rising interest in the Polish labor market from abroad, with Ukrainians firmly leading among foreign nationals. Poland's robust economy and demographic shifts have created significant demand for labor in sectors like construction, logistics, and services.

The increase in Ukrainian workers reflects broader regional social and economic shifts. The heightened demand for labor in Poland is likely driven by both the country's economic growth and domestic workforce shortages in key industries. These figures also emphasize the mutual importance of this migration, as Ukrainians gain employment opportunities while Poland secures a vital source of labor.
