As of June 2, Ukrainian farmers have sown grains and legumes across 5.84 million hectares, reaching 97% of the planned area. The most intense activity is concentrated in the Poltava, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, and Cherkasy regions.

In addition, industrial crops—including sugar beets, sunflowers, and soybeans—cover 6.9 million hectares, equivalent to 95% of the forecast. These figures highlight the agricultural sector’s momentum and the successful execution of planned agronomic operations.

Agricultural Sector and Food Security

The reported sowing rates reflect a strong campaign, which plays a critical role in safeguarding the nation’s food supply. Robust performance in agriculture can also bolster the economic outlook for key crop-producing regions.

Sustained support for farm producers and efficient resource management remain essential for the continued growth of the agricultural industry.

The ongoing success of Ukraine's sowing campaign lays a strong foundation for the country's agricultural ambitions. In light of this progress, the government has set its sights on achieving a record grain harvest of over 60 million tonnes by 2026.
