Over the past year, the number of Ukrainian refugees registered in Poland has increased. The Ambassador of Ukraine in Poland, Vasyl Bodnar, emphasized the relevance of migration issues at the border.
"The officially registered refugees, according to the data from the Polish insurance agency ZUS, were 930 thousand, and now it has become 998 thousand. This is the dynamics over the past year"
The ambassador explained that migration flows remain stable, and the main specific limitations are the requirements for obtaining all necessary documents for leaving Poland. Some clarifications were also provided regarding the regulation of military registration procedures and simplifying border crossing.
Simplifying border crossing and military registration
Vasyl Bodnar noted that simplifying the military registration procedure and the agreement on joint control at checkpoints is an important step. This will make the process of crossing the border faster and more convenient for citizens.
"Joint control simplifies a lot. When you arrive at one point, you hand over your passport and receive it back there, without additional travel. This is a step forward"
It was also noted that the complexity of the border with Poland is due to EU control and the efficiency of border guards. At the same time, there are certain restrictions at Polish checkpoints with Belarus and Russia.
Ukrainian refugees in Poland are increasing, and the authorities are discussing measures to simplify border crossing and military registration.
