Ukrainians with temporary protection in Poland have the right to leave the country and return under specific conditions. The main requirement is that the duration of stay outside Poland must not exceed 30 days.

According to the publication 'Spilno', to legally exit, it is necessary to have the Diia.pl application installed in the mObywatel system and a valid foreign passport. If these conditions are met, Ukrainians retain all the benefits of their status.

Consequences of Violating the Duration of Stay Abroad

Exceeding the 30-day period of stay abroad automatically leads to the loss of temporary protection status. Along with the status, Ukrainians lose the right to social assistance, free medical care, and preferential entry into the country.

Returning to Poland after short trips is possible; however, the final decision on entry remains with the Polish border authorities. Ukrainian border guards may also deny citizens exit without proper documents - a regular or biometric foreign passport.

Status UKR and Procedures for Its Restoration

Currently, the UKR status is valid until September 30, 2025. The European Commission recommended extending it until March 4, 2027, but the final decision is made by each country separately.

For Ukrainians who have lost their temporary protection status, there are procedures for its restoration. Detailed information on the conditions and deadlines can be obtained through official channels or by consulting the Ukrainian House at 727 805 764.
