Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all whose lives have been taken by the Russo-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Andriy Yefrosinenko.
On November 14, 2023, a group of fighters led by Colonel Yefrosinenko engaged in battle with overwhelming enemy forces near Peremoiskyi in Kharkiv region. Thanks to the professional actions of Colonel Yefrosinenko, the invaders lost up to 30 men and retreated, but as a result of a gunshot wound, Andriy Yefrosinenko perished. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Andriy Vasylovych Yefrosinenko was born on April 20, 1973, in the town of Pereslavl-Zalessky, Yaroslavl region, Russia. In 1995, the young officer graduated from the Institute of Border Troops of Ukraine. He began his service in the Sumy detachment and in 2013 led the unit that provided border control at Donetsk airport, concluding his military career. However, this border guard could not serve for long.
The Fight for Ukraine
By 2014, the officer was carrying out combat missions in the east of the country as part of one of the volunteer battalions. With the onset of full-scale invasion, Andriy mobilized into the ranks of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and performed combat missions in the Bakhmut and Cherneshchyna areas as part of a combined border unit.
By the time of the formation of the 'Steel Cord', the border guard had already amassed enough combat experience, so he voluntarily joined the newly created border unit and was appointed to one of the leadership positions in the 4th rapid response border command.
