Priority border control for children under two years old: The Parliament will consider the draft law

Дитячий контроль на кордоні: парламент має намір розглянути нові законопроекти.

Draft Law No. 14349 on Priority Border Control for Children

The Verkhovna Rada will consider Draft Law No. 14349, which provides for priority border control for children under two years old. According to this document, children up to two years old inclusive will have the opportunity to undergo control out of turn accompanied by adults. This will significantly simplify the process of crossing the border for families with small children.

According to the proposals in the draft law, the driver will also undergo priority control if the family is traveling by vehicle. In addition, the draft law clarifies the rules for persons with disabilities. For such individuals, it is allowed for up to two accompanying persons and close relatives of the first degree of kinship to follow together with them.

Advantages of the New Legislation

Such a practice of priority border control was already applied at the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022 when the State Border Guard Service organized separate 'corridors' for citizens with children. These changes can significantly ease the travel process for families with small children and people with disabilities, simplifying their border crossing process.

The proposed changes in legislation indicate a desire to improve conditions for vulnerable groups during border crossings. Taking into account the needs of families with small children and persons with disabilities is an important step towards social justice and ensuring comfortable conditions for all citizens. This can also positively impact the tourism sector, as simplifying the border crossing process may encourage more families to travel.
