For the first time, a private air defense group in Ukraine's Kharkiv region has successfully shot down a jet-powered 'Shahed' drone. Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced this milestone on April 17, 2026, highlighting the progress of a private air defense initiative that is fully integrated with Ukraine's Air Force command structure.
