Ціни на товари в Україні нижчі, ніж у Польщі: чому українцям все ще складно здійснювати покупки.

Products in Ukraine are cheaper than in Poland: why it is still harder for Ukrainians to buy

As of early December 2025, the cost of a grocery basket in Ukraine is 25-40% lower than in Poland. However, despite this price difference, Ukrainians find it harder to shop due to the significant difference in minimum wages. The minimum wage in Ukraine at the end of 2025 is approximately 6,160 UAH, while in Poland it amounts to about 3510.92 PLN net, which is equivalent to 40,882 UAH.

Prices for essential products

Prices for essential products also indicate a significant difference. For example:

  • Potatoes in Ukraine cost 9.99 UAH per kilogram, while in Poland their price is 46.34 UAH per kg.
  • Greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine are sold for 99.89 UAH per kilogram, while in Poland their cost reaches 150.86 UAH per kg.
  • Eggs in Ukraine are a third cheaper than in Poland.

Despite lower product prices, the consumer basket for Ukrainians is approximately 4-5 times more expensive relative to their minimum wage than for Poles. This indicates that even with lower prices, the accessibility of products remains a difficult problem for Ukrainians due to their income. As a result, despite the price advantage, Ukrainians face difficulties in meeting their basic needs.

This situation highlights not only the economic challenges faced by Ukrainians but also the importance of social policies that can change the standard of living of the population.

In conditions where minimum wages do not correspond to actual living expenses, the issue of ensuring product accessibility becomes critically important for social stability and further economic development. It is vital for the government and other stakeholders to pay attention to this problem, as it directly affects the well-being of citizens.
