NikitA and NeAnhely Are Making a Comeback

Yuriy Nikitin, the producer behind some of Ukraine's most memorable pop acts, has announced the return of two beloved groups: NikitA and NeAnhely. According to Nikitin, NikitA is returning as a nearly finalized project, while NeAnhely will hold open auditions since former members are not interested in reuniting.

The Story Behind the Bands

NikitA was active from 2008 to 2017. Its lineup included Dasha Astafieva and Yuliya Kavtaradze, with Anastasiya Kumeiko replacing Kavtaradze in 2011. Nikitin commented:

“NikitA is coming back now. But I won’t say anything more! You will be pleasantly surprised by how.” - Yuriy Nikitin

NeAnhely, formed in 2006, performed until 2021. The group’s stars were Viktoriya Smeyukha and Slava Kaminska. However, Nikitin revealed that they could not reach an agreement to work together in a new formation:

“While NikitA is almost a finished project, with NeAnhely we are opening a casting call. NeAnhely is an open palette, but we are currently figuring out how we will bring it all back.” - Yuriy Nikitin

The open casting for NeAnhely stems from the unique vocal qualities of its former members. Nikitin explained: 'Why a casting? Because they have unique voices. Such voices are one in a million. They are undoubtedly talented, so I said the story is not yet defined, but I really want to bring this project back to the Ukrainian show business.'

As a result, both groups have a chance to return to the Ukrainian stage, though NeAnhely’s path involves a public audition process.

The revival of popular acts like NikitA and NeAnhely may signal a renewed interest in Ukrainian music amid current challenges. NikitA already has a formed team, which could help them regain popularity quickly, while the NeAnhely auditions open doors for emerging talent. This also highlights the need for music projects to adapt to changes in lineup and audience preferences in today's entertainment landscape.

The revival of iconic groups like NikitA and NeAnhely is reminiscent of the recent reunion of Potap and Nastya Kamenskikh, who also made headlines after a long break. This trend highlights a growing interest in reuniting beloved musical acts, reflecting a desire for nostalgia and connection in the current music scene.
