Ukrainians are actively using the program '3000 km across Ukraine' and have already purchased about 40 thousand train tickets. This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine, Minister for Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.

According to him, the initiative allows residents of frontline communities to travel across the country under favorable conditions and simultaneously helps to distribute passenger traffic more evenly on the railway. Tickets within the program are available through the Ukrzaliznytsia app, and no additional state budget funds are involved in its implementation.

The most sought-after directions among passengers are:

  • Fastiv — Konotop

  • Odesa — Zaporizhzhia

  • Kyiv / Zhmerinka — Shostka

  • Zaporizhzhia — Lviv

  • Sumy — Rakhiv

These routes have become leaders in the number of purchased tickets within the program.

What the state plans next

The program is part of the initiative 'Winter Support', initiated by the President of Ukraine. It aims to support communities near the frontline and use the available railway transport capabilities more effectively.

In the future, the program plans to expand across the entire territory of the country. During off-peak periods, Ukrzaliznytsia will be able to offer up to 250 thousand seats per month, which should make travel more accessible for even more Ukrainians.

It is worth noting that Ukrzaliznytsia has decided to expand its list of trains for the New Year and Christmas holidays. In particular, there will be more trains for rest and rehabilitation for Ukrainian soldiers and their families in the Carpathian direction.
