Update of the 'eRestoration' Program
Starting from January 5, 2026, updated indicators of the average cost of repair work will be applied in the 'eRestoration' program for calculating compensation for damaged housing. This update aims to increase compensation amounts, especially for types of repair work that were affected by various circumstances.
The mechanics of housing inspection will remain unchanged. Each type of work on the checklist will be evaluated based on updated prices if the checklist is formed after January 5, 2026. The cost of 65 types of work has been reviewed, with an average increase estimated at 27.5%. For example, the replacement of metal entrance doors has been valued from 14,415 UAH to 31,220 UAH, and the restoration of facades with insulation has increased from 2,348 UAH per square meter to 3,021 UAH per square meter. The local roof repair has also changed, with its cost rising from 512 UAH per square meter to 597 UAH per square meter.
Maximum Compensation Amounts
Along with these changes, the maximum compensation amounts remain the same:
- up to 200 thousand UAH - for current minor repairs;
- up to 350 thousand UAH - for major repairs of apartments;
- up to 500 thousand UAH - for major repairs of private houses.
The list of works that may be considered for compensation includes the restoration of sewage, heating, gas supply, and electricity supply. Thus, the innovations in the 'eRestoration' program promise to improve funding for restoration work for owners of damaged housing.
The updates to the 'eRestoration' program are an important step in ensuring adequate compensation for individuals whose housing has been damaged. The rise in the cost of repair work, reflecting real market prices, will contribute to a more effective restoration of the housing stock. This may also impact the economic situation in the country, as the activation of repair work creates new jobs and supports the construction industry. At the same time, the sustainable development of the program will depend on its financing and the ability to address the needs of the population amidst changing economic realities.
