The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a law that clarifies the procedure for providing one-time assistance to employees of critical infrastructure and civil servants who suffered due to Russian aggression. The document expands the list of persons who can receive payments and also defines clear deadlines for the implementation of this right.
According to the words of the authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada on human rights Dmytro Lubinets, the changes are aimed at eliminating problems that previously arose during the appointment of assistance.
Law on assistance to employees of critical infrastructure: what changes
The new norms provide for the expansion of the list of persons who may claim state compensation.
The main provisions of the law:
-
employees of branches and representative offices of operators of critical infrastructure will have the right to receive payments
-
the deadlines for applying for assistance during martial law and for three years after its completion have been defined
-
the possibility of additional payments in case of deterioration of health or the establishment of a higher disability group is provided.
Compensation for injured employees: who can receive it
Separately, the law clarifies the list of relatives who can claim payments in case of the employee's death.
Assistance can be received by:
-
children of the deceased
-
non-working parents
-
widow or widower
As Dmytro Lubinets explained, the adopted changes are intended to eliminate cases of refusal of payments and guarantee fair compensation to those affected.
«Now everyone has the right to the assistance they deserve», — emphasized the ombudsman.
We remind you that the Ukrainian government will allocate 11.2 billion hryvnias for the protection of critical infrastructure.
