Rocket strike on Ternopil: 25 dead, including three children

According to the State Emergency Service, explosions were heard in the city of Ternopil as a result of a large-scale rocket attack by the Russian Federation. This incident resulted in casualties and injuries among the civilian population. In particular, 25 people were killed, including three children, and 73 others were injured, of which 15 were children. Specialists from various regions are already on-site to provide assistance to the victims.



Emergency rescue operations are ongoing, with more than 160 rescuers, climbers, dog handlers, and units of the State Emergency Service involved. Damage assessment and assistance to the victims continue at the scene.



The population of the city is facing increased chlorine levels in the air due to the Russian attack. The Ternopil Regional State Administration has issued a call to stay at home and keep windows closed to ensure the safety of citizens.



Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Russian occupiers launched over 470 strike drones and 48 rockets of various types at the country's territory.



«The killers struck our city with rockets and Shaheds. Buildings and residential houses have been damaged. There are casualties. Relevant services are working at the scene. More detailed information will be provided later,» said Ternopil Mayor Serhiy Nadal.


Poland has taken control of its aviation flights due to the massive rocket attack from Russia on the western regions of Ukraine. The country's air defense and radio detection are in a state of maximum readiness. An important part of the response to the situation has been the mobilization of Polish armed forces to a state of readiness to effectively prevent potential threats from Russia.



According to the State Emergency Service, the consequences of the Russian rocket attack on Ternopil have led to deaths and severe injuries to many civilians. Specialists continue to provide assistance to the victims, while international partners express support and readiness to respond to threats from Russia.
