Aftermath of Another Wave of Russian Strikes

President Volodymyr Zelensky has offered a fresh update on the damage caused by Russian attacks in recent days. In Kyiv, emergency teams put out the fires, though six people were wounded. Kremenchuk and Kryvyi Rih were also hit by ballistic missiles, with Kryvyi Rih reporting two dead and 14 injured. Another person was killed in Sumy.

Air-raid sirens continue to sound across many regions this morning as Russia launched a new wave of drones. “Emergency services are working at the scenes of the morning and night Russian strikes,” Zelensky said. Over the past week, 13 regions came under attack, with the enemy using more than 1,550 strike drones, nearly 1,560 aerial bombs, and 62 missiles—most of them ballistic weapons of different types.

Casualties by Region

Here is the breakdown of victims from the recent attacks:

  • Kyiv and the surrounding region: 6 wounded
  • Kryvyi Rih: 2 dead, 14 wounded
  • Sumy: 1 dead

“Just this week alone, 13 regions were hit,” Zelensky stressed. Personnel from the State Emergency Service, police, and medical teams are on the ground, providing first aid and handling the aftermath.

The latest figures offer a grim snapshot of Russia’s ongoing aerial campaign against Ukraine. The scale of drone, bomb, and missile use, along with the growing role of new weapons, points to an escalation that keeps civilian areas under constant threat. Ukrainian emergency services must therefore remain on high alert, working under intense pressure to protect lives and infrastructure.

In light of the recent attacks, it’s essential to consider the broader context of Russia's military actions. A similar report highlights that in just one week, the aggressor unleashed a staggering number of weapons, including missiles and drones, against Ukraine.
