Missile attack on Odessa port
Today, July 3, an 'Iskander' missile hit the area of one of the berths at Odessa maritime port. At that moment, people were working on the berth, unloading metal from a foreign vessel under the flag of São Tomé and Príncipe. This was reported by 'Glaсkom' citing the head of the Odessa OVA Oleg Kiper.
According to authorities, as a result of the attack, two people were killed: one was a dock worker-mechanic, and the other was a truck driver. Six other people were injured. Among them were employees of one of the port operators and a driver. Two others were citizens of Syria, members of the crew of a civilian vessel.
«Russia has been shelling our ports for the fourth year in a row. It strikes at the infrastructure that connects Ukraine with the world. It targets the people who daily ensure the operation of critical facilities. Civilians. This shelling is further evidence that Russia is deliberately trying to destroy our transport hubs, export opportunities, and the lives of peaceful citizens. Free and safe navigation should not be an exception, but a norm. There should be a strong international response. The world cannot leave targeted attacks on civilian infrastructure unanswered,» emphasized Kiper.
