At midnight on August 1, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation struck the Kup'yansky district of Kharkiv region, resulting in the destruction of a children's psycho-neurological institution. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing the head of the Shevchenkove village military administration, Serhiy Starykov.
'Around midnight, the Shevchenkove community suffered a brutal airstrike. The children's psycho-neurological institution was completely destroyed. At the time of the attack, the building was vacant and was simply under guard. Fortunately, there were no casualties,' he added.
According to Serhiy Starykov, as a result of the strike, residential houses located near the institution were also damaged. In the village of Shevchenkove, several hits occurred on the educational facility, resulting in a fire covering an area of 100 sq.m. This information is confirmed in a message from the State Emergency Service.
Ongoing attacks on Kharkiv: damage and casualties
The RF army continues to attack Kharkiv and the region. For example, on the night of July 30, the regional center was attacked by drones, leading to explosions and destruction of cars, a car wash, windows of apartment buildings, and a supermarket.
Recall that on July 26, Russian troops shelled Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, missiles, and drones, resulting in five people injured, including three State Emergency Service employees. Despite the danger, rescuers saved six people, including two children, ensuring their evacuation to a safe place.
As a result of the armed strike by Russian troops, a children's institution in Kharkiv region was destroyed, and residential houses were damaged. Authorities noted that at the time of the attack, the institution was empty, which allowed for the avoidance of casualties. Such attacks negatively affect the civilian population of the region, forcing people to seek safe shelters and evacuate from destroyed buildings.
