In Lutsk, a rare Jelcz PR110E trolleybus, which had not been seen on the line for about two months, took to one of the city trolleybus routes. The vehicle was brought in as a backup for a short replacement of a faulty trolleybus. This is reported by Konkurent.

Information about the unusual outing was published by Andriy Khomyts in the Facebook group Public Transport. According to him, the Jelcz PR110E temporarily replaced the vehicle with fleet number 229.

Why the Jelcz PR110E Went Out on the Route in Lutsk

The rare trolleybus completed one round instead of the faulty vehicle. This is specifically a reserve trip, not an announced return of the Jelcz PR110E to regular passenger service.

Prior to this, the trolleybus had not appeared on the line for about two months. The reason for the prolonged absence and the further schedule for its use were not specified in the message.

The involvement of the reserve vehicle allowed the replacement of the faulty transport on the route. Earlier in the city, temporary changes in traffic were implemented, particularly due to cable damage in the trolleybus network.

What Makes the Lutsk Jelcz PR110E Trolleybus Special

Andriy Khomyts calls this vehicle the last operating Jelcz PR110E model in the world. This refers to transport that is still utilized on urban routes.

Thus, even a short trip drew the attention of public transport enthusiasts. The appearance of the Jelcz PR110E on the line demonstrated that it can still be used as a reserve trolleybus. Meanwhile, no plans for regular operation were mentioned in the post.

At the same time, Lutsk is working on the purchase of 18 trolleybuses. As previously reported, the conclusion of the contract depends on the approval of the tender results by the European Investment Bank.
