Ukrainian Motorcycle Market Surges 17% in 2025, Despite a Sharp December Decline

Ринок мотоциклів в Україні зріс на 17% у 2025 році, незважаючи на різке зниження у грудні.

Motorcycle Market Growth in Ukraine for 2025

The Ukrainian motorcycle market experienced significant expansion in 2025. Registrations for new motorcycles rose by 17.2%, while imports of used bikes surged by 54.4%. A total of 43,808 new motorcycles were registered for the first time, with models in the 125–250 cc range forming the core of consumer demand. However, the new vehicle segment saw a sharp 35.8% drop in December compared to November. This market is closely watched as an indicator of consumer mobility trends and economic adaptation.

Data shows that 1,535 transactions were recorded in December, which is 6.4% higher than in November. The internal resale market for motorcycles also grew by 13.8%. Leading brands for new motorcycles include:

  • Spark
  • Lifan
  • Musstang

On the secondary market, Ukrainians show a preference for brands like Honda, Yamaha, Lifan, and Geon. The premium segment features Harley-Davidson, BMW, and Ducati.

Market Prospects and Challenges

The year 2025 marked a boom period for Ukraine's motorcycle sector. The legendary KMZ (Kyiv Motorcycle Plant) has faded into history, with its place now filled by Chinese manufacturers. As analyst Ostap Novytsky notes,

“the motorcycle in Ukraine has ceased to be an element of national production, becoming a utilitarian solution dependent on global prices.”
Collectible finds on the secondary market included a BMW R35 (1951), an IMZ M-72 (1952), and a ZID K-125 (1951).

Overall, the Ukrainian motorcycle market demonstrated substantial growth in 2025, despite the sharp December contraction. The rising interest in motorcycles as personal transport is often linked to fuel price volatility and urban practicality. The popularity of smaller-engine models highlights a focus on economy, while the December slump may reflect typical seasonal demand fluctuations in the industry.
