Employers are required to verify military registration: new employment rules

According to the new employment rules, an employer is required to demand military registration documents from job candidates. Official employment is only possible if there is confirmation of military registration. The Inspection Activities Department in the Zhytomyr region reminds about this important requirement.

Document requirements

Conscripts need to provide a certificate of enlistment to the draft board. Military personnel must present a military ID or a temporary certificate. It is important to note that employment is only allowed after being registered with the Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support (TCSC & SP), the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), or the Foreign Intelligence Service.

Special attention should be paid to women with medical or pharmaceutical specialties who are also military personnel. It should be noted that in case of violation of the new rules, officials of the enterprise may be fined from 34,000 to 59,500 hryvnias for each case. Additionally, the employer is not allowed to hire individuals with outdated Soviet-style documents unless they have been updated.

These innovations are aimed at ensuring compliance with military registration requirements and increasing the responsibility of employers in the employment sector.

The introduction of new employment rules in Ukraine responds to the need to enhance military readiness and control over military registration in the country. These measures may impact the labor market, as employers will need to be more careful in selecting candidates, which may lead to delays in the hiring process. It is also important to emphasize the responsibility for complying with these rules, as fines could pose a significant financial burden for enterprises. Such changes may also encourage citizens to regularly update their military registration documents, which, in turn, contributes to raising the level of military awareness among the population.
