Attacks Target Kharkiv and Kyiv
Russian forces launched a combined assault on Kharkiv and Kyiv overnight on March 7, employing ballistic missiles and drones. In Kharkiv, one of the ballistic missiles struck a residential apartment block, causing extensive damage. Preliminary reports indicate two people were injured, including an 11-year-old boy. These attacks are part of a sustained campaign against Ukrainian cities, often targeting civilian infrastructure.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported on the situation: 'There is significant destruction and a fire. People may be trapped under the rubble.'
In Kyiv and the surrounding Kyiv region, the aftermath of attacks was also recorded, particularly in the Desnianskyi district, where ballistic missiles and attack drones were active.
Oleh Syniehubov, head of the regional administration, stated: 'According to updated information, an 11-year-old boy was injured. Medical personnel are providing all necessary assistance.'
These strikes underscore the continued escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, especially in regions that have already suffered immense destruction. Authorities are actively working to clear the aftermath of the shelling and provide medical aid to the victims.
The situation remains fluid, and details regarding casualties and the full extent of the damage are still being clarified.
