Ukrainian Cities Targeted in Overnight Strikes
In the early hours of January 3, Russian military forces launched attacks on the Kyiv and Sumy regions, as well as the cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv. These strikes resulted in significant destruction, civilian injuries, and widespread disruptions to heating systems. In the Kyiv region's Obukhiv district, a 41-year-old man was injured, and the assault damaged two private homes, a vehicle, and a farm building.
In Konotop, located in the Sumy region, the strikes damaged:
- a children's educational facility,
- private residences,
- and other structures.
In Kharkiv, thousands of residents were left without heating due to the attacks. Ukrainian authorities have announced they will open a criminal investigation under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which addresses war crimes.
